9-12 AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION TEACHER & FFA ADVISOR

USD 480 is seeking a gr. 9-12 Agricultural Education teacher and an FFA Advisor. This is a young program with dedicated students and FFA members. The facilities for the agricultural educator are a science lab in the high school and food science kitchen. 

The classes currently taught in this department are: Agriscience, Animal Science, Introduction to Agriculture, Equine Science,Small Animal Care, and Internships.  With the possible expansion in the areas of Ag Welding and Ag Mechanics.  

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to self-start.
  2. Possess the willingness to learn new things.
  3. Demonstrate the ability to assess student needs and respond with appropriate action.
  4. Demonstrate the confidence to lead and the humility necessary to follow a directive.
  5. Demonstrate the ability to work with fellow educators to develop, implement and evaluate instructional strategies and materials to improve teaching and learning for all students of multiple grades.
  6. Demonstrate flexibility in regards to schedule, program demands, and student needs.
  7. Understand the importance of building positive school/community relations.
  8. Model positive professional attributes.
  9.   Take students to and prepare students for CDEs, LDEs, and other FFA or school-related events.
