School Nurse
Purpose: The School Nurse helps students attain an optimum level of physical, social, and emotional health. In order to coordinate a comprehensive student health program, the School Nurse must work closely with students, staff, administration and parents.
Responsible to: Superintendent
Payment Rate: Salary and benefits determined by the Negotiated Agreement
Some credit is given for nursing experience
Qualifications:
- Eligible for a Kansas Nurse license
- Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing
Essential Functions:
- Assist all students attain an optimum level of physical, social, and emotional health with consideration of individual health needs.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive health program for students and employees of the district.
- Ensure all activities conform to Federal, State, and District guidelines.
- Communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members of the school district and community.
- React to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner, and handle other tasks as assigned.
- Operate all equipment appropriately as required to perform duties.
- Advocate with staff and administration to meet the educational and health issues of special needs students.
- Assist in the implementation of the vision and mission of the District.
